During her tenure, Dr. Brownlee transformed NTSO into one of North Texas's most respected volunteer orchestras. Under her leadership, the orchestra earned the 2023 American Prize in Community Orchestra Conducting and second place in Non-Collegiate Orchestral Programming. "Dr. Brownlee's impact on Dallas's cultural landscape has been extraordinary," The NTSO is in the final stages of its nationwide search for a new conductor and artistic director, with an announcement expected in August 2025. The search committee seeks candidates who share Dr. Brownlee's commitment to musical excellence and community engagement. "Leading NTSO has been the highlight of my musical career," said Dr. Brownlee. "I'm so thankful to our amazing musicians, supporters, board, staff, and audience members. They've all made these two decades together an extraordinary and worthy journey." Dr. Brownlee will transition to Artistic Director through 2026 and continue serving on the Board of Directors as Conductor Emeritus, ensuring a smooth leadership transition while maintaining the orchestra's artistic vision.
