Nashville Honors Late Singer Larysa Jaye with Official Proclamation During CMA Fest, Declares December 8th as 'Jaye Daye'

Legacy lives on through music, family, and culture as Nashville recognizes Larysa Jaye's impact
NASHVILLE, Tenn. & KANSAS CITY, Kan. - June 7, 2025 - PRLog -- The City of Nashville and Mayor Freddie O'Connell, officially honored the late country-soul artist Larysa Jaye with a proclamation declaring December 8th as "Jaye Daye." The recognition took place during CMA Fest 2025 at Tin Roof Broadway, with support from Country of Color and C.M. Jaye Music. The moment honored Larysa's groundbreaking role as the only Black woman to hold a residency at Justin Timberlake's 12/30 Club at the time, and her impact on country music, gospel, and culture.

The proclamation was received by Wendell Hamilton Jr., Larysa's younger brother and rising public speaker and author, who serves as the family's voice at all official events. C.M. James, founder of C.M. Jaye Music and Larysa's older brother, continues to carry her legacy forward through music, media, and storytelling.

"Jaye Daye" not only marks a tribute to a beloved artist but also a cultural milestone for underrepresented voices in the country genre. With powerful partnerships like Nashlanta and Country of Color, the celebration echoed Larysa's lifelong message: music should be soulful, inclusive, and unforgettable.
